It’s been a little over one month since we saw the release of CyanogenMod 11 M6. Naturally, this has left many crackflashers itching for some new ROM goodness. Now, the next monthly milestone release is here: CM11 M7.
For the unaware, these monthly milestone builds have replaced CyanogenMod’s previous release candidate and stable builds. So just like last month’s M6 release, today’s M7 release will likely be stable and daily driver-capable on the vast majority of supported devices. As mentioned on the CyanogenMod Blog, quite a lot has gone into the preparation of M7. This includes a new CM Theme Engine and Theme Chooser UI (with a corresponding new Theme Template), a calculator app overhaul, launcher updates, performance profiles (including benchmark optimizations), updates to the core OS, and newly supported devices.
Some may be disappointed to hear that the recently released Android 4.4.3 did not manage to make it into today’s M7 release. This is due to last week’s CM code freeze in preparation for these builds. However, CyanogenMod’s current nightly builds have now incorporated Android 4.4.3.
