Root Galaxy S Advance I9070 on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware

I am here with something encouraging for all those out of you who own Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070. You can update Galaxy S Advance I9070 to official Android 4.1.2 firmware. Here I am with the rooting guide for this esteemed device. Before proceeding ahead, we’d like to thank XDA Developers Forum member ‘Shaan’ for developing the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XXLKPZ firmware for the Galaxy S Advance smartphone. Here is the guide to root your Galaxy S Advance I9070.

Prerequisites

• Take the backup of entire data. Though this is optional, but all out of you who have ever done rooting before, must be familiar with its importance.
• Make sure that the battery is charged for 85 percent at least.
• Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your device. For this, navigate to Menu > Settings > Applications > Development and then check the ‘USB Debugging’ there.
• Make sure that you have all necessary USB Drivers installed on your PC/Laptop.
• By rooting the device, you will get get the stock recovery image. In order to flash a custom Recovery, you will have to follow another guide.

Root Galaxy S Advance I9070 on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware

• Download Root zip file from this link.
• Transfer this file to the external SDcard of your device by connecting it to your PC/Laptop.
• Switch off the device and enter it into Recovery Mode by pressing Volume Down, Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously.
• Now navigate to ‘install update from external SDcard’ ->>choose zip from SDcard’.
• Here, define the file that you wish to install, which is, of course, the Root zip file that you downloaded in the very first step.
• Highlight the Root zip file in the selection list, and then press the Power button to confirm your selection.
• The rooting process will complete in a few minutes. Once it is done, you need to reboot your Galaxy S Advance I9070. For this, go to recovery main menu and select the ‘reboot system now’.
• Your phone will restart now.
