Bootloader Unlock and Root Tutorial for the HTC One X+

HTC’s newest flagship phone, the Htc One-x is a beast. It has a 4.7″ HD screen, and it packs a 1.7GHz quad-core processor. Word is that it cooks bacon too. There is a lot to like about it, and there is a lot to dislike about it, like the non-removable battery. However, one thing no one can say is that it doesn’t have root and bootloader unlock tutorials.
XDA Recognized Contributor  (good luck pronouncing that one, Jordan!) has released a tutorial that helps users get their One X+ rooted and bootloader unlocked. Unfortunately, it’s the HTCDev unlock method and not S-Off, but it’s still better than locked.
The HTCDev unlock method is the usual method—using the official website, getting the unlock token, and using it to unlock the bootloader. For root, there is a script that applies the proper root files and super User for all your root needs.
Unfortunately, there is no custom recovery yet. That’s likely the next step on the development to-do list. Then, it’ll be time for ROM flashing and more modding fun. For those who just want some root access for now, check out the Root The Thread

Unofficial CyanogenMod 10 for the Samsung Galaxy GT-I5510

Whenever we report on a device receiving an unofficial Cyanogenmod 10 port, more often than not, it’s for a relatively recent device. But in this case, the device that’s received the CM10 build is in fact the Samsung Galaxy GT-I5510. Released back in late 2010, the device has only 512MB RAM and a 600MHz processor, making it a somewhat surprising, and indeed impressive candidate for CyanogenMod 10.

The dev responsible for bringing us this ROM is XDA Forum Member , who has built the ROM from source. As can be expected with a device of this age running CM10, there are a number of issues to be aware of.
Partially working:
  • Keyboard. To use virtual keyboard disable physical keyboard from Language and Input -> Default, after every reboot.
  • Camera/Video
  • Sensors
Not Working:
  • Media Scanner
  • When using headphones mic don’t work
Will Never Work:
  • Video
  • Native tethering
All other major functions should be working normally, so the ROM is very much usable, though the dev mentions there will be instabilities.
If you want to try out Cyanogenmod 10 on your Galaxy I5510, check out the ROM thread.
